Purdue’s game on Tuesday night may not be worrying about Penn State as much as it is worrying about themselves
In player interviews today, guard Terone Johnson said that Purdue needs to start playing “Purdue” basketball. He’s right. The past two games Purdue has given up 90 points in the first half and lost by a combined 52 points. Johnson added that the team played “horrible” the past two games. D.J. Byrd said that the effort needs to be better halfway through Big Ten play.
Well, now it faces the only winless team in conference: Penn State. Can Purdue finally play like it gives a damn?
Usually in a preview you detail the opponent and what a team needs to do to win the game. Honestly, Penn State is so bad that if Purdue just plays its game, it will win. It doesn’t matter how the Nittany Lions play. This is all on Purdue. Show up and play with emotion, you win. Don’t and you embarrass yourselves as you give Penn State its first conference win.
